Toga

Finally the year that my family had been waiting for… the graduation of our youngest sister and it’s happening on March 28, 2007! I’m like a proud momma because I’ve watched her grow up and everything is doing great.

I remember when she was in high school she never goes to sleep unless she’s ready for the upcoming quiz and exam. In college, well she’s more courageous, she doesn’t mind going to her class late but she manages to surprise her panelist during her thesis deliberation. I love her dearly and her success is one of my happyness!

Friday Margarita

I don’t say no to a good Tequila. I didn’t say no too to Margarita. I end up drunk after the gimmick last Friday. I’m aware of what I was doing. I was noisy but I know I am because if I don’t do that there is but one thing to do that wasn’t an option at all – to sleep. The only time that I can sleep is when I get home.

I was dizzy, I cannot walk straight, and it was the first time my friends saw me drunk. I got home in one piece and I think the cab driver never suspected that I got too much drink. Happy time! I love the Margarita, I love the salt on the glass rim, I love the cold ice cube added, I love the sweetness, and the added Tequila. Most of all, I love the company!

Moon

I’d been noticing the beautiful moon here in the Philippines starting last month. I love how it lights up the darkness and how I see things clearly with nature’s help without depending on street lights.

Cars

Cars is definitely my most favorite animated movie!

The story is so close to my heart because I somehow see myself in all the characters and the whole plot is a narration of human’s life. It was simple but direct to the point. Truly the scenes were predictable but I love how it paints reality.

The characters represent every human being’s strengths and weaknesses. The story acknowledges history as vital part to hold on for hope and worth believing on.

I love Lightning’s smile. He has the most amazing car smile. Being an animated person when I’m happy, I appreciate animated characters. (^_^)

I love Lightning’s detour in Route 64 to discover humbleness and friendship. Being exposed to pretending to be good would actually push people to do good eventually.

Life leads us to unexpected disappointment for us to discover a far greater beauty within ourselves.

Mater is an example of it’s not in the outer look that we can see a friend to be treasured. It’s about trying to get involved without expectations in return. It’s about keeping it real and honoring words.

Sally is the passionate lawyer who defends what’s right no matter what’s the cost. She understood giving up the fast lane and hefty paying career in the city to serve a previously famous and fun area that slowly lost its charm because of progress and good change surrounding it.

Doc Hudson represents most of the fearful people. I got to admit that I did what he did. He hides from an unknown place just to forget the painful past.

The story also taught about the real meaning of glory and winning. It’s not always finishing first in the race but doing what’s really right and what’s good in the heart.

There is so much to tell but I would recommend that you watch it yourself and discover goodness that we all must do if we want life to be beautiful all the time.

My sincere thanks to John Lasseter, Joe Ranft and the whole team who created the movie. It took them 6 years to patiently produce a worthy film. Kudos!

Clean House

I love our apartment right now because Jenny and I plus a help from Shobe this weekend made the house so organized! I can’t wait to be at home and give myself a pat on the back because I felt like I can breathe better – makes it easier too to move most likely in Makati soon.

Clean House plan started last Saturday when Jenny and I shopped for plastic boxes and big bags. We bought Red Bull too to keep me energetic and true enough we’re up until Sunday morning and decided to go to bed by 10AM. Up again after about an hour for lunch and finally called it a day at 11PM. Whew!

The general cleaning isn’t done but I have the coming weekend to finish the last 5% job!

No More Friday Syndrome

Am I getting a hang of it? Managing my time and working with quality yet fast? I’m getting my original passion back with the clear notion and reminder about the true master. I say I love work for a deeper reasons and now I don’t just settle with not making time in trying new things and the possibility of meeting new interesting people.

I love my new rhythm.

I love this day the moment I joined Emy for breakfast at Starbucks. Ever since I was trapped at home sick and with the fear of getting worst and infecting anybody during holiday break, I missed my Caffe Latte with two additional white sugars badly! I was really excited and happy while I also enjoy the Cinnamon Swirl.

I love Starbucks Caffe Latte.

Lunch time I was in McDo for my chicken with Rina and Emy plus interesting topics!

I love Chicken. I love my friends.

I was so happy that I was able to deliver the urgent proposal and contracts. I was able to do that Minutes in like 5 minutes. I needed to send the e-mail, confirm the meeting, and do a website QA before I need to rush for a Blogging seminar.

I love my boss who attended to my request so fast! I love work!

Finally, my friend Rina and I reached the networking venue and finally listen to the bloggers that include Noemi Lardizabal-Dado who is the first winner of the blog category in the recent Philippine Web Awards. Really cool especially when I met Pocholo Gonzales a one heck of a voice talent who sincerely made me laugh my heart out by doing impersonations and wowed me with the project he did in the past.

I love to blog. I love to meet new witty people.

I met my bestfriend who is getting married soon to ask me to fit the gown that I’ll wear for the first time and it fits! Considering the fact that I just ate a Seafood Pasta and a Pizza Sandwich from Delifrance wehihihihi I have to watch my diet and make sure I keep this figure or less until Friday!

I love the anticipation and the feeling of overcoming the worry. Yey!

Cool day because I was able to do the things that I love in my life! Thanks God! You’re the best in making my day so beautiful.

I love to pray.

Number 2

Have you ever tried noticing how a certain number can be so repetitive in our life?  It could be a coincidence or it’s part of my destiny?  Okay to cite some instances…

  1. I am born on the 2nd day of June
  2. I am a Gemini whose symbol is the Twin
  3. I have two first names which is Sorren Caryl
  4. I have two sisters
  5. My father’s birthday was 2nd of March
  6. My father passed away on the 2nd of November in 2002
  7. I applied, worked and resigned in a certain company twice
  8. I have two pairs of exactly the same pants
  9. I have two tops with the same style only different colors
  10. I had two dresses during my junior prom
  11. I add two white sugars in my tall Starbucks Caffe Latte
  12. I have two “Mission Impossible” books
  13. I lost my cellphones twice in events
  14. I have a strong desire to have twins as my first born

I wonder what other two will I expect in this lifetime.

5 Days

Today is the fifth day I got my mumps! I’m not proud! My cheeks are not yet even! My sisters was able to create new jokes about it – it’s fun – it’s a laughing stuff until now. Mama calls everyday to check on me. I can brush my teeth now without enduring pain afterwards.

I may say, the medicines helped a lot especially the pain reliever. Finally I love poison in this case. I forgot where I heard it but they say medicines are actually poison that’s why as much as I can I don’t take it; except maybe this time and later on if I still find it hard to be sane because of too much pain… I would still consult a doctor and take pills. Am almost well and can’t wait to live a normal life. Wait I didn’t have a normal life that’s why I caught the virus in the first place.

Sigh. I need to become more motivated to live a healthier life. Will power Sorren! I need to decide I want the total good life! I can do this.

A Celebration of Friendship

Our office decided that instead of having a Christmas Party we will donate it to the people from Albay who really needed support. It was a very kind gesture indeed. Although, my friends at the office and I thought that we’ve worked all year round; so it’s time to unwind and enjoy each others company. We decided to create our own happy Christmas party complete with food, exchange gifts, drinking, and reflection of this year’s experience!

Party-cipants (in alphabetical order to avoid billing issues… wehihihihihi):
April, Emy, Joyce, Rina, Sorren, and Ylai (^_^)

December 22, 2006 | 6PM: As usual the ladies were doing last minute works to make sure we can party without too much hassle and worries in mind.

December 22, 2006 | 7PM: April went out to do last minute shopping for her 2nd Christmas Party to attend with her other group of friends. It was really funny when Ylai was joking next time she has to choose, one group – one party! April is the ultimate multi-tasker!

December 22, 2006 | 8PM: Finally, we took two cabs one group going to the Bayview Park Hotel and check-in while the other group went to Dencio’s near PICC. We almost opt to Grappa’s but the latter was reserved for a private party so we were patient and waited for our table to be ready which happened after about 30 minutes.

December 22, 2006 | 9PM: We ordered the following food: Kilawin na Tanguige, Pinakbet, Pork Sisig, Inihaw na Liempo, Crab Rice, Garlic Rice, Iced Tea, Calamansi Juice, San Mig Lite. While waiting for our food we saw the Mayor Lito Atienza mascot – really cute.

The food was okay, the two waiters are the worst, and yet it was redeemed by the guard and the last waiter who finally attended our needs. I know that they may be tired working and all but that’s their duty. As I’ve always thought, if currently you’re a street sweeper then be the best street sweeper! We almost run into a fight but for sure it’s not going to worth it.

Aside from eating, we’ve started talking about our childhood and who do we think is the black sheep in the family. Some of the members admitted that it was exactly them who they consider the black sheep. As I think about it further, I don’t want to believe on the existence of black sheep because it’s too negative and it’s too judgmental. No one should be labeled as the worst in the family because each person is intrinsically good.

December 22, 2006 | 11PM:  After eating and sharing we take photos along Manila Bay and in front of Grappa’s. All the photos were taken fast because we’re concern with the digicam’s battery supply. The famous line of the night “Dali na! Mauubos iyung battery…” Next time, I surely know what to bring. (^_^)

December 22, 2006 | 12PM: Before we went back to the hotel, we went to 24 hours store, can I mention the name of the stores? Oh we’re not yet celebrities only royalties; okay, so we went to Mini Stop and 7-11 to buy bags of chips, chocolates, mineral water, coffee, and the liquor of the night is Bacardi.

December 23, 2006 | 1AM: Back at the hotel, we took some photos and the exchange gift started. It was fun. We need to say our wish for our baby before finally giving the gift. Every Mommy + Baby will have a photo then the Baby + Gift/s to capture the joy. Everybody loves the gifts received including the warm and sincere wishes.

December 23, 2006 | 2AM:  After the exchange gift portion we gather around and it’s time to drink. The Bacardi came with a Coke and the coke was better. We seriously need to learn the best mix for that drink. Ylai’s assignment!

The drinking came with the casual talks of what we don’t like with one another that should be improved especially that 2007 is coming. What do we love with each other that should be maintained was shared last. We are indeed a group of ladies with so many great dream and true love to share. Lucky are the men who will catch our hearts.

December 23, 2006 | 5AM: One by one we went to finally take a bath and sleep. It was a good sleep.

December 23, 2006 | 10AM: Rise and shine for the royalties. Okay I didn’t mention it earlier but April needs to go back at the office to upload some files. Emy will accompany her to get her stuffs. There’s a time constraint here, see we need to check-out from the hotel at 1PM and they need to be at the office before 2PM. It was fun. We wake up and took a bath.

December 23, 2006 | 12PM: We went to Superbowl of China and ate a King’s breakfast. We took some photos and ended the meal with Fortune Cookies!

December 23, 2006 | 2PM: We’re back with our own family with a heart full of gladness.

It was a 2-day Christmas Party with friends whom we consider an extension of our family.  It’s a celebration of friendship too more than just another party because we love each person who brings out the best in each of us. Life truly becomes sweeter and happier!
